A very different Chinese New Year

How do i celebrate Chinese New Year in US?
Wat do i expect from a country who do not know wat Chinese New Year is about?
Over here, do not have the atmosphere of CNY....
it's my first time celebrating CNY without my family, ang pau, CNY cookies, new clothes,shoes...

Back to the topic, how i celebrate my CNY?
Ans is in the New Year eve(malaysia's time) i slept over in a Malay friends house...because of dance practice for the cultural night next week...
At their house, i being able to skype my family...see and talk to all my family members....that is the only highlight of the night...
is good to see all my family members reunion..is good to talk to them...spent around 1 hour more talking with them...
funny thing was JC had his hairstyle...botak....when i saw i burst out laughing...suddenly become primary student..haha...anyway, he is as handsome as usual...
I did show JC and JS to my friends...and i don't forget to promote them. as usual( if you know me well, that's wat i always do when talk about my bro..hehe)... haha....
they said JC looked exactly like one of the Malay over here...when i heard this, i laughed...
Bcs it mean he is goood looking...haha....
Praise Lord that everyone is fine...after skype, back to practice....zzz

On the other hand, my US new year eve was spent in the church and dance practice also...
Church is decorated, full of chairs and tables...and of course food..food...chinese food... ^^
In the gathering..we have some performance, and short message by Ps. Dale...
The kids dance, and sing... ^^

church is decorated

mandarin oranges

kids is going to perform
all of the kids is born in US, so their first language is english, chinese is their second language,
so they are not fluence in speaking Chinese..anyway, they did a good job.. ^^
(cnt upload video)

musical performance

FOOD~FOOD~

people are taking food

me and Ps. Juan & his wife. ^^

My CNY seems like nothing special....however, i being able to experience what is the feeling, condition when you are away from home town, you can't celebrate all the festival that you used to celebrate....
one thing i m thankful for is i still can celebrate 2-3 hour of CNY in the church and spent time with friends( actually is practicing) so that i wont be alone...haha...
Suddenly feel like eating steamboat...hahaha...

here are some pictures of practicing Dikir Barat and the dance.. Asmaradana..

Basically that's how i celebrate my CNY... Monday have to go to class...no holiday :(
             HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR

                &

WISH EVERYONE HAVE A FRUITFUL 2010

May the blessings from God surround you all year round~
